The train service from Paris to Poitiers is fast and reliable. Eurostar arrives in Gare du Nord. Trains leave from Gare Austerlitz in the south east of the city. Hire a car from Poitiers for the remaining hour's drive.

By Road:

The ferry ports are about eight hours drive away but the roads are excellent. Although finding your way around Paris on the motorway ring-road may be daunting to some, it's simple to follow the signs to Bordeaux going south, or Lille on the return journey. Alternatively we can suggest a route avoiding Paris altogether.

The motorway system is excellent and not normally busy, especially on a Sunday when lorries are banned. Some of the motorways are free, others are toll roads. Few have roadworks! Or you can take the National roads and make a slower journey as part of your experience of France.

Detailed directions to the gîte, according to your intended route, will be sent to you before you start your journey.
